Kids Ministry Director - Ballantyne Campus

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible overseeing campus-specific Kid’s Ministry between nursery, preschool, elementary, and preteen. This role will ensure alignment among the Kid’s Ministry, and effective ministry execution in each area through leadership, collaboration, supervisory of team, and championing ministry initiatives. Performs duties and provides leadership to establish and meet organizational mission, vision, values and strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This job oversees the execution of Kid’s Ministry between nursery, preschool, elementary, and preteen. Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary based on assignment.

  • Prioritize prayer for the church, ministry, team, and age groups we’re seeking to build bridges with that connect everyone to dynamic life in Christ.

  • Provide leadership and direction for all Kid’s Ministry environments on the campus including, but not limited to Large Group, Small Group, Lead X, and Engage Online

  • Spend 25% of work hours relationally with kids, students, or families to develop influential relationships with next gen connected and disconnected from Jesus

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead catalytic environment (including weekly programming and quarterly and yearly (summer camps) bridge building events and trips) for the specific age group they oversee, ensuring that the experience is fun, inviting, energetic, and all about Jesus

  • Collaborate with Next Gen Director to contextualize Kid’s Ministry environments to meet specific needs of the campus while aligning them with the overall Kid’s Ministry goals

  • Collaborate with Kid’s Ministry Associate to ensure ministry alignment and effectiveness

  • Collaborate with campus production and worship staff to create catalytic environments that engage kids in an exciting way, all while connecting kids to dynamic life in Christ

  • Collaborate with Next Gen Central Support for curriculum and trip coordination for campus implementation

  • Develop and supervise Kid’s Ministry Associate(s) on the campus, ministry volunteers and a volunteer coach model, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to perform in their roles and in larger ministry capacities

  • Spend 25% of work hours relationally with ministry volunteers to care for them, develop them, and celebrate them

  • Serve as the primary lead of Next Gen Ministry to Kids on stage, online, and through digital communication

  • Uphold Forest Hill Church Child Protection Policy

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Kid’s Ministry Associate.

Competences, Knowledge, Education, and Experience:

  • This role requires team leadership and large group management, relational intelligence and collaboration, upfront communication, and administrative skill

  • This role requires at least 3 years’ worth of Kid’s Ministry experience, or an equivalent experience (ex. teaching, YMCA, etc.)

  • This role requires at bachelor’s degree

  • This role requires experience leading a team, working with systems and processes, communicating to children, developing volunteers, and organizing large group and small group environments
