Fort Mill Connections Intern

FM Connections Intern:

Job Summary:

The Connections Intern will play a vital role in connecting individuals to Forest Hill Church by providing exceptional care to first-time guests, collaborating with the Discipleship team to create a welcoming environment on Sundays, and supporting volunteers. This position involves facilitating connections with campus-specific ministries, and assisting with various connections-related tasks such as events, process development, and database management. The intern will contribute to the overall success of the Connections ministry by embodying the mission, vision, and values (DNA) of Forest Hill Church.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Discipleship team in recruiting, training, and celebrating Connection volunteers.

  • Provide care and support to first-time guests, including those from the Atrium area and Next Gen.

  • Support individuals interested in Bridge Groups, volunteering, membership, and Baptism.

  • Collaborate with Connections teams and share best practices to enhance ministry success across campuses.

  • Regularly review and improve new guest procedures to ensure efficiency and quality.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Connections environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn about volunteer development and training trends.

  • Knowledge of Scripture and biblical theology.

  • Experience in a hospitality or volunteer ministry environment is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage in meaningful conversations.

  • Effective communication skills with diverse audiences and age groups.

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.

  • Ability to advocate for community and spiritual connections.

  • Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Sunday Specific:

  • arrive on campus by 8am.

  • Any set up or prep before praying with Adult D Team around 8:20am.

  • 1st huddle starts around 8:45am.

  • Organizing offering ushers.

  • Organizing elders and deacons who serve on communion Sundays as ushers, with elements.

  • Being available to meet new guests.

  • Assessing coffee supply needs and ordering.

Weekday Specific:

  • attend All Staff 242 day

  • attend Connections Team meetings

  • attend Fort Mill Team/ FM Adult Team meetings when able

  • Scheduling Volunteers

  • Communicating with Volunteers (working towards supporting service coaches) who work with volunteers.
